Delicious Tiramisù Cupcakes


Tiramisù is my always favorite dessert, however I never been able to translate the tiramisù dessert taste into cupcakes. Until now! :) 

Before I had always tiramisù cupcakes taste more like coffee cupcakes or mascarpone cupcakes; vanilla cakes with coffee and a splash of mascarpone cupcakes! Not for this recipes! Give a try and let me know! And try to stick with the ingredients, I'm pretty sure make the difference! Enjoy your baking time!

Delicious Tiramisù cupcakes recipes:

Serves: 12 cupcakes
preparation & baking time: about 50 min.

For the vanilla cake (base):
  • 60 ml of milk
  • 1 vanilla bean (pod)
  • 60 gr. of unsalted butter
  • 175 gr. of all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 150 gr. of caster sugar
For the coffee syrup:


  • 4 teaspoon of instant coffee
  •  45 gr. of caster sugar
  • (optional: 30 ml of Marsala or other sweet wine)
For the Mascarpone cream:
  • 240 gr. of whipped cream
  • 230 gr. of Mascarpone cheese
  • 50 gr. of powdered sugar
For the decoration:
  • powder bitter chocolate
  • bitter chocolate drops


 A>vanilla cake (base):
  • Preheat the owen at 160°C
  • mix in a bowl the flour, baking powder and salt, set aside
  • pour the milk into a saucepan
  • scrape out the vanilla pod seeds and add both (vanilla pod & seeds) into the milk
  • bring to boil
  • take the saucepan out from heat
  • add the butter and stir until completely melted
  • remove the vanilla pod
  • set aside
  •  prepare a pan full of boiled water
  • in a heatproof bowl pour the eggs, the yolks and the sugar
  • put the heatproof bowl above the boiling water
  • stir for 5/6 minute until the sugar is completely dissolve (be careful: the mixture should be warm but not hot or cook!)
  • remove the pan from water bath 
  • then with the mixer, whip at high speed for 6 minutes until the dough result bulky
  • then put the mixer on slow-medium speed and add the flour mixture gently
  • when all flour is added and incorporated add the milk blend
  • mix until you get a soft dough
  • fill the cupcakes cup
  • bake for about 20 minutes


B>coffee syrup:
  • make the coffee
  • add the sugar and stir until dissolved
  • (if you choose the Marsala version add it now)
  • let cool down before using
C>mascarpone cream:
  • whipping the cream, set aside
  • mix at medium-high speed the mascarpone
  • meanwhile add the powdered sugar
  • stop the mixer and with a spoon gently add the whipped cream

D>assemble & decoration:

  • cut a piece of cake from the center of the baked cupcakes you already pulled out of the owen and cool down
  • dip the cut piece into the coffee, must be well wet
  • with a spoon drop some coffee into the cavity of the cupcake
  • fill the cavity with a half teaspoon of mascarpone cream
  • cover the cavity with the wet piece of cake
  • spread the mascarpone cream on top of the cupcakes
  • sprinkle the cupcakes with bitter chocolate powder
  • decorate with the bitter chocolate drops
